Nope! South Carolina is a direct access state, meaning you do not need a referral from another provider to receive care from a physical therapist. We are trained as first-access providers—meaning we can determine if your condition will improve with physical therapy and will help get you to the right provider if we're not it. Some insurance companies and physical therapy clinics still require referrals, which can increase the amount of time before you're seen and the overall cost of your care. Schedule a free phone consultation to discuss if you think you might need to see your physician or need imaging first. If you do have a referral already, you can see ANY provider you want—regardless of any specific clinic or provider mentioned.
-
We are an out-of-network provider, meaning we do not bill your insurance. We chose this model because the current healthcare system places too many restrictions on therapists, making it impossible to provide the best care to reach your unique goals. This often looks like providers treating multiple patients at once, for a shorter period of time than appropriate, which decreases the quality of care. Furthermore, many insurance companies will deny the performance-based treatments and dry needling that [re]living performance delivers. You deserve better than allowing an insurance company to dictate your care. We are happy to prepare a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.

Your physical therapist will sit down with you and listen to your current issue(s) and past history. Then, they will perform a comprehensive movement assessment and partner with you to create a plan to reach your unique goals. Wear workout or other comfortable clothing that allows you to move. Shorts are ideal if you are seeing us for a lower body issue.

Recovery time varies depending on the severity of your condition, how long you've had pain, and your commitment to the treatment plan. Many patients experience significant relief within 4-6 weeks of starting treatment, but chronic back pain may require a longer timeline. During your initial evaluation, we'll provide a realistic timeline based on your specific situation and goals.
-
We provide 60-minute, one-on-one sessions with a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist—no assistants, no juggling multiple patients. You get undivided attention and a treatment plan tailored specifically to your body and goals. We focus on active adults and athletes who want to get back to running, cycling, lifting, and living without restrictions. Plus, you'll have direct access to all your exercises on your phone—no more lost paper handouts.
-
Absolutely. Sciatica and nerve pain radiating down the leg often respond very well to physical therapy. We use a combination of manual therapy, nerve gliding techniques, dry needling, and specific exercises to reduce nerve irritation and address the underlying mechanical issues causing your symptoms. Most patients see improvement within the first few sessions.
