What Greenville Athletes Are Saying

Got a massage after the climbing competition at Blochaven! I felt so good the next day even after climbing for 3 hours!

Matt is incredibly caring and knowledgeable about both running and cycling. I came to Matt with the hopes of becoming stronger as well as getting over a few nagging injuries. Matt made a clear plan and we executed it. Matt is hands down the best PT in the Greenville area!

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about getting started at Reliving Performance in Greenville.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start PT in Greenville?

No. South Carolina is a direct access state, so you can start PT without a doctor's referral. We're trained as first-access providers and ready to evaluate, build a plan, and start treatment from your very first visit.

What makes Reliving Performance different from other PT clinics in Greenville?

Every session is one-on-one with a residency-trained, board-certified orthopedic PT who is also a competing triathlete. There are no aides, no hand-offs, and no insurance-driven limits on how long we spend with you. The focus is root-cause resolution, not managing symptoms until you cycle back in.

Do I have to stop training while I'm in PT?

In most cases, no. Our goal is to keep you as active as possible while we address the root cause. You'll get a modified training plan built around your current capacity, with load adjusted progressively as things improve. Complete rest is rarely the right answer.

Is this cash-based? What does that mean for me?

We're cash-based and don't bill insurance directly. You pay per session at a transparent rate. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill to submit for potential reimbursement, though we can't guarantee what your plan will cover. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit is your root-cause evaluation — the most comprehensive assessment you've had. Your PT takes a full history, assesses your movement patterns, and identifies what's driving your pain or limitation. From there, they build an individualized plan. In most cases, treatment begins in that first session. Come dressed for movement — shorts and a t-shirt work well.
