Professional Bike Fitting in Greenville, SC

Stop Fighting Your Bike. Start Riding Your Best.

A poorly fit bike isn't just uncomfortable — it's a performance leak and an injury setup. Your physical therapist analyzes your body, your bike geometry, and how you interact with the machine to build a setup that transfers power and protects your body.

What a Bad Bike Fit Is Actually Costing You

Pain is stealing your ride

Knee ache at mile 30. Back stiffness on the descent. Numb hands by the finish. These aren't just inconveniences — they're signs your position is off.

You're leaving power on the road

An inefficient position means more effort for fewer watts. On a long ride or triathlon, that gap compounds over hours in the saddle — and it shows at the finish.

Small issues become overuse injuries

What starts as manageable discomfort turns into knee pain, lower back stiffness, or Achilles problems when a poor position never gets corrected.

Common Conditions We Treat

What Brings Cyclists to a Fit

Cyclists come in for performance optimization, pain prevention, saddle soreness/groin pain, IT-band pain, ankle foot pain/hot spots, and position work ahead of key events, not just when something goes wrong.

Knee Pain on the Bike - Knee ache or discomfort from saddle height, cleat alignment, or pedaling mechanics that don't match your anatomy.

Lower Back Pain - Back stiffness or pain from a reach or saddle position that doesn't match your hip flexibility or riding style.

Neck & Shoulder Discomfort - Upper body pain and tension from a position that's too aggressive or not suited to your anatomy.

Hand & Wrist Numbness - Tingling or numbness driven by weight distribution and handlebar position issues.

Hip Pain - Hip impingement or discomfort caused by saddle height, saddle type, or pedaling mechanics during longer rides.

Event Prep - Position optimization ahead of a Gran Fondo, triathlon, or target race where efficiency and comfort matter over distance.

Saddle Sores & Saddle Pain – Discomfort, chafing, or recurring saddle sores caused by saddle position, saddle selection, or pressure distribution issues during longer rides.

IT Band Pain – Outer knee or thigh pain often linked to saddle height, cleat position, or pedaling mechanics that create excess strain through the IT band.

Frequently Asked Questions

Curious about bike fitting in Greenville? Here's what most cyclists ask before booking.

How long does a bike fit take?

A full bike fit takes approximately two hours. That includes a pre-fit body evaluation, the full fit from cleat to handlebar, and before/after video review so you can see exactly what changed and why.

Do I need to be injured to get a bike fit?

Not at all. Most cyclists who come in are healthy and want to ride more comfortably or efficiently, especially heading into a longer event. If you're dealing with something, we'll account for it, but injury is not a requirement.

What types of bikes do you fit?

We work with road cyclists, triathletes, and endurance riders of all kinds. Whatever you ride, the process starts the same way: a full body evaluation first, then the fit is built around your anatomy and your goals on that specific bike.

What makes this different from a standard bike fit?

Most bike fits start with the bike. We start with your body. Before touching anything on the bike, we do a full physical evaluation to understand your flexibility, strength, and any movement asymmetries. Every adjustment comes from that, not a generic positional template. You also leave with before/after video so you can see what changed and why.

Can I combine a bike fit with PT if I have an injury?

Yes. If you're dealing with knee pain, lower back issues, or another injury affecting your riding, Dr. Matt can address both the body and the bike in an integrated way. He'll let you know how to sequence it based on what you're dealing with.
