Knee Pain Physical Therapy in Greenville, SC

Stop Managing Knee Pain. Start Resolving It.

Knee pain that keeps flaring up has a root cause and we find it. Every session is 1-on-1 with your physical therapist, who builds an individualized plan around your body, your sport, and the way you actually move, not a generic protocol.

What Nagging Knee Pain Is Really Costing You

The Same Knee Keeps Flaring Up

Rest calms it down, but a few weeks back into training the same ache returns. Without knowing what's driving it, the flare-up cycle just keeps repeating.

You're Scaling Back What You Love

Squats get lighter. Runs get shorter. Stairs get a second thought. The pain quietly reshapes your training around it, and your goals keep drifting further out.

You're Chasing the Symptom

You've iced it, braced it, and rested it. Nothing holds, because those target the symptom and not the movement problem underneath that keeps loading the knee wrong.

Common Conditions We Treat

Why People Come to Us With Knee Pain

People come to us when knee pain keeps interrupting their training and they want to understand why it keeps happening, not just be told to rest it and stretch.

Runner's Knee / Patellofemoral Pain - Aching around or under the kneecap that worsens with running, squatting, or stairs.

Patellar Tendinopathy (Jumper's Knee) - Pain at the front of the knee just below the kneecap that flares with jumping, lifting, and loading.

IT Band Syndrome - Sharp or burning pain on the outside of the knee that shows up partway into longer runs or rides.

Meniscus Irritation - Catching, pinching, or deep joint-line pain with squatting, twisting, or deep knee bends.

Post-Op & ACL Return-to-Sport - Structured rebuild and return-to-sport progressions after ACL or other knee surgery.

Knee Arthritis - Stiffness, swelling, and achy knees that make you feel like you have to give up the activities you love.

Tendon & Overuse Flare-Ups - Recurring knee tendon pain from training spikes, load changes, or ramping mileage too fast.

Pre-Surgery Prehab - Building strength and movement quality before knee surgery to set up a faster, stronger recovery.

Erin Mulherin
10/10 would go see Matt for both preventive PT and post injury. He's a fantastic resource for anyone trying to improve their health or performance.
Alex Winnicki
Matt did an amazing job helping to diagnose why my knee would hurt going up stairs and it boiled down to my calf. He knew right away how to fix it and hasn’t had any pain since! I highly recommend going to Matt and know he’ll help you feel better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about knee pain PT in Greenville? Here's what most people want to know first.

Will I have to stop training while my knee recovers?

In most cases, no. The goal is to keep you moving as much as your knee can handle while we address the root cause. We'll modify your training around your current symptoms and load it back up progressively as things improve. Complete rest is rarely the answer and often makes the comeback harder.

Do you accept insurance?

We are cash-based and out-of-network. We don't bill insurance directly, but we provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement. We also accept HSA and FSA payments.

I've tried PT for my knee before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

Most people who come to us have done PT that chased the symptom at the knee instead of the cause behind it. Every session here is 1-on-1 with your physical therapist, no techs and no divided attention. We look at the whole chain, the hips, ankles, and how you load, then build a plan to resolve it and keep it resolved.

Do I need a referral to start?

No. South Carolina is a direct access state, so you can come straight to us without a physician referral. We're trained as first-access providers. If we find that PT isn't the right fit for what's going on with your knee, we'll point you in the right direction.

Is this only for athletes?

Not at all. We work with runners, cyclists, and lifters, but also active adults who just want to climb stairs, hike, and keep up without their knee getting in the way. Whatever "active" means for you, the plan is built around your goals and the way you move.
