Running Gait Analysis in Greenville, SC

Your Stride Holds the Answer

Recurring running pain almost always traces back to how you move. We capture your gait on camera, break down what's loading the wrong tissue, and build a 1-on-1 plan that fixes the cause so you can get back to training and racing without the same flare-up.

What Running Through the Pain Is Really Costing You

The Same Injury Keeps Coming Back

You rest, the pain fades, you rebuild your mileage, and the same knee or shin lights up right where it always does. Until the movement fault driving it changes, every training block ends the same way.

You're Running Scared of the Next Flare

You shorten runs, skip the workout, and brace for the twinge on every downhill. Holding back doesn't just cap your fitness, it changes your stride and quietly sets up the next problem.

You're Guessing at the Fix

New shoes, foam rolling, a stretch you found online. Nothing holds because none of it addresses the strength, mobility, or form fault actually loading the painful tissue.

Common Conditions We Treat

What Brings Runners to Us

Runners come to us when a nagging pain keeps interrupting training and they want to understand what in their stride is actually driving it, not just how many weeks to take off.

Runner's Knee (Patellofemoral Pain) - Aching at the front of the knee that flares with running, hills, or stairs and lingers through a training block.

IT Band Syndrome - Sharp pain on the outside of the knee that builds a few miles in and forces you to cut runs short.

Shin Splints - That deep ache along the shin that returns every time you ramp up mileage or pace too quickly.

Achilles Tendinopathy - Stiffness and pain in the Achilles that warms up early, then bites again later in the run and the next morning.

Plantar Fasciitis - Heel and arch pain that's sharpest on the first steps of the day and flares with longer or faster runs.

Hamstring Strains - High-hamstring or mid-belly strains that keep re-tweaking because they were never fully rehabbed for running speed.

Hip & Glute-Driven Pain - Hip, glute, or groin pain that traces back to how you control your pelvis and load each step.

Overuse & Training-Load Injuries - Repetitive-strain running injuries that keep returning despite rest because the driver is still there.

What Local Runners Are Saying

Stories from Greenville runners and active adults who found the root cause in their stride and got back to training and racing.

Matt has been incredibly helpful with a few different issues I’ve had over the last year. The assessment and diagnosis is thorough and I can’t overstate how good it feels to be treated by someone who understands the ins and outs of running that I was trying to get back to. I recommend Matt to any athlete who wants to get back to their old self or improve their performance post-injury!

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about running gait analysis in Greenville? Here's what runners ask most.

Do I need to be injured to get a gait analysis?

Not at all. Plenty of runners come in healthy to catch hidden inefficiencies before they become injuries, dial in form, or build toward a goal race. Others come because something hurts. Either way, the analysis shows what your stride is doing and where it can improve.

Do I need a referral to book?

No. South Carolina is a direct access state, so you can come straight to us without a physician referral. We assess your running directly, start a plan that day, and if imaging or a specialist is ever warranted, we'll point you there.

Do you take insurance?

We're cash-based and out-of-network, so we don't bill insurance directly. We provide superbills you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement, and we accept HSA and FSA. In return you get unhurried, fully 1-on-1 care with no insurance limits on your sessions.

Can I keep running while we work on my form?

Usually, yes. The goal is to keep you running as much as your body allows while we resolve the root cause. We adjust your mileage, pace, and workouts around your current capacity and progress them as you improve. Complete rest is rarely the answer.

What do I need to bring to the assessment?

Just your usual running shoes and clothes you can move in. We'll capture your gait, walk you through what we see, and start building the plan in that same visit. If you have older trainers or race shoes, bring them too so we can compare.
